Lego Minifigures Series 14 List

Photos of the collectible Lego Minifigures Series 14 List have been out and about for some time now but just a few days ago LEGO® has released photos of the complete minifigs in the series with names and a confirmed release date, September 2015.

Months of speculation online showing leaked images of a monster theme had everyone guessing, why? Although I have no real answers, I can only suspect that it’s in line with the holiday season of halloween or maybe it’s due to the new Scooby-Doo theme that was recently released, which would make really good sense cause the show did have a creepy cast of characters.

Hot Dog Guy Lego Collectible Minifigure

The Hot Dog Guy Collectible Minifigure Series 13 is probably one of the most rare and unique minifig in the collectible series that is hard to find in a box of 60 collectible minifigures, especially one that has been out on display for customers to purchase.

Hot Dog Guy

What makes this minifigure hard to find? Well the answer is simple, everyone feels the blind pack for the minifigure accessories, which could identify them, and although it may take some time distinguishing the ones that have the same pieces for example the 1 x 2 tile pieces found in with the Jester or the Video Game Guy, except that the Jester has two pieces which sets them apart. The Hot Dog Guy is wearing a long roundish suit which makes feeling for him that much more easier than any other minifigure I have come across.

Traveling to various stores in hopes to collect the Hot Dog Guy proved difficult because of how easy it is to identify. I decided to visited the LEGO Store to search the large wide bin which houses about 3 boxes of minifigures that are dumped in there, hoping to get at least one minifig. After feeling my way through each package, which took about 45 minutes, the store manager asked if there was a particular that I was looking for and I proceeded to tell him. When the conversation was over he headed to the stockroom and brought out a brand new box containing 60 minifigures, handing it over to me and saying that I could put the packs in the bin. Surprised, excited and thankful I found only 3 Hot Dog Guys out of a box containing 60 minifigures.

It’s too bad that the Pizza Delivery Guy from the previous series did not dawn a mascot wearing pizza costume like the Hot Dog Guy but maybe (hopefully) LEGO will consider creating one or maybe a french fry, soda or burger costumes in a future series.

Lego Collectible Minifigures Series 12

The excitement of the new LEGO collectible minifigures series 12 photos have been circulating around the web back in August, with a projected release date of October with a retail price of $3.99.  During the second week of September, images of the people owning the actual minifigures have been popping up in many social media post, showing that some brick and mortar stores have been stocking their shelves with the minifigs ahead of time.  Leaving some of us to wonder if our local stores have them stocked as well.

After viewing the hundreds of posted photos on social media of people finding these minifigs, I figured that maybe my local Walmart, Kmart, Toys r Us or Target might have them stocked in stock.  I visited the stores these stores in different locations for the past 3 weeks starting the second week of September and with no luck I wasn’t able to find a single one.  My hope of finding a store that had released it was the LEGO Store.  I talked to the Store Manager, but he said that the release date that they were going to stock their shelves was October 1st.

I finally found the minifigures for sale but not at my local store, instead I found them on eBay.  There were a handful of sellers selling the minifigures at almost double the price of retail with a product title listing stating “rare”, which was some what true since they haven’t officially been released.  I wasn’t the only one looking to buy on eBay for my own collection, there were many people that wanted to purchase them before release as well.  Some of the listings when I looked at the stock had something like 9 available (42 sold).

Pig and the GrillThe Game of Life

I eventually bought the Piggy Guy and the Video Game Guy minifigures, which I featured on Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and so on, from a seller that sold them at a decent price, although I was really looking forward to buying the Spooky Girl minifigure to complement my other black and white collectible minifigures but not at $10.00.  But the price does not seem to matter to some because the collectible minifigures may be a rarity in the area where they live, even when it’s released, which brings them to eBay and other online sites to purchase.

Lego Collectible Minifigures Series 12 are indeed finally here! And if you were one of those people that were able to get your hands on some, consider yourself lucky.   Will we be able to find these minifigures in our local stores when they are stocked? If you see them, then chances are that you better buy some before the next time you visit the store they’ll be sold out.
